Previously, the inability to directly export .mpr files forced Woodsoft Nesting users to go through an intermediate step of converting from .dxf using BAZIS CNC. This method was quite inconvenient because it was time-consuming, incurred software costs, and, most importantly, the effectiveness of preventing wood chip splintering was not as high as expected.
Good news: starting with the new version, Woodsoft Nesting directly exports the standard WoodWOP .mpr file format for Homag CNC Nesting machines. This eliminates the intermediate step of BAZIS CNC. The process is streamlined to just 3 steps:
Select Homag as the controller, select the materials and details to export, set the length along the X-axis, and flip the face along the X-axis. No need to touch the original Homag software.
Configure the machine's tool order (T10–T95 depending on the model), speed, and direction of movement: clockwise outer cutting, counterclockwise inner cutting, groove milling, and hole drilling. Configure once and use for all subsequent orders.
The system immediately returns: an .mpr file that runs directly on Homag, an optimized Nesting diagram (cutting from the outside in to prevent board splashing), scannable QR codes at the factory for production data lookup, and a detailed consumption report.
No BAZIS CNC required. No manual input. No trial-and-error on the machine.
If any of you workshop owners are currently running Homag and would like to try it out, please leave a comment. We will assist with the configuration from scratch.
