Previously, to prevent board flying, chipping, and damage to small parts, we were forced to choose a method of cutting the board along the part's contour, meaning using a diagonal cutting tool and then cutting around the part. While this method prevented board flying, it had the limitation that adjacent parts, or parts with very close edges, were still cut twice, leading to many excess cuts, longer cutting times, and increased tool wear. With Woodsoft Optimizers, this has been solved by a combined cutting algorithm. Adjacent edges of parts will only be cut once. Small parts are still cut diagonally to prevent flying. This method reduces cutting path length and nesting time by up to 35%. To achieve maximum cutting path savings, it is necessary to: – Arrange large parts next to each other. – On the BAZIS, the distance between parts must be set to equal the cutter diameter. #bazis #optimizers #cnc #nesting
